Kenneth Sims Jr wins WBA title eliminator.

Saturday May-12th, Kenneth Sims Jr (19-2-1, 7ko), moved one step closer to a title shot defeating former world title challenge Batyr Akhmedov(9-2, 8ko), in a 12-round, 140lbs WBA Superlight title elimination bout.

The fight between Sims Jr and Akhmedov, earned the right to be named as a early Fight of the Year candidate. What started out as a boxing match ended in a intense blow-for-blow brawl for the ages. Early in the fight Sims looked to try and control the fight by keeping range and displaying his boxing skills, then about midway through the fight fans had buckle their seatbelts, as Akhmedov started to turn up the pressure leading to the Fight of The Year worthy performance.

Prepared for whatever, Sims jr was willing to oblige, with both fighters exchanging some vicious punishment on each other causing swelling on the right eye of Sims. Well equipped for war, the vision obstructed Sims ultimately proved to be the better man, winning the WBA Super lightweight title eliminator by Majority decision, at the cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas.

After the fight Sims started “I want the winner of the main event. I want that title” Whoever wins the main event, that’s who I want.”
